GIGGING- an American South and Midwest practice of hunting frogs and various game and non-game fish species
The story, Frog Gigging ( seen below), was done last October for a class. Out of the work I've completed in the last year, this for some reason always stood out. There are problems, granted, but it was certainly going in the right direction. What seems to stand out the most, in my opinion, is the art direction. I was interested in evoking the feeling that one would get when looking at the art of Heinrich Kley and E. H. Shephard, of winnie-the-pooh fame. Especially more with the latter of the two. I wanted it to have the look of a children's book illustration, something which I had never attempted before. Looking back, I am still interested in where I could go with something in this aesthetic approach. We'll just have to see.
Now all I'll need to do is master Kley's form, line, and movement, and find the charm hidden within Shephard's work. haha...sigh

TAKE IT TO THE BRIDGE
Ah, the birth of a new blog. Isn't it wonderful. The blog you find yourself reading is one created for the purpose of showing my personal work off to a viewing audience and have a place for my unheard voice.
To the few ,enjoy
